This one had depth — a lot of it. The issue was that users couldn’t get to that value easily. The moment someone new logged in, they were hit with a blank canvas and too many possibilities. For someone already familiar with automation, that’s fine. For everyone else, it’s overwhelming. Most users dropped off before even creating their first workflow.

What we did

We didn’t change the core product much. Instead, we worked on the first experience. Added ready-made workflows that people could just pick and tweak. Simplified labels so things sounded more human and less technical. Reworked guidance so it felt like someone was walking you through it instead of leaving you to figure it out alone. Also trimmed down unnecessary options early on.

Result

The shift was pretty clear. More users actually built something on their first visit. Once they crossed that initial barrier, they tended to stick around.
